Liberian student speaks at potluck

Liberian student speaks in living room

What a treat! On March 8th at the Arkansas WAND potluck we were honored to hear Georgie Genosay, student at the Clinton School of Public Service, tell us about her work with the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Leymah Gbowee in Liberia.

Georgie will graduate in May and and then head to New York to work with the Clinton Foundation. Arkansas WAND, with help of others, sponsored Leymah Gbowee’s trip to Little Rock in 2013. One of the conditions Leymah Gbowee had for agreeing to coming here and speak, was finding a scholarship spot for one of her students in Liberia. The Clinton School stepped up to the challenge.

Georgie is such an accomplished young woman and we will be so proud to watch her graduate on May 15th.
We also thank her great and kind mentor, professor at the Clinton School, Dr. Ellen Fitzpatrick!
